My response is simply this - since when should I even give a damn how history remembers me? The George Wallaces of the world certainly didn’t.

I was never really a fan on country anyway. I’m a rock ‘n roll/metal/blues guy.

Bad (corporate) rock with a fiddle, according to the late Tom Petty.

I saw Max Stalling 3 or 4 times in concert when I lived in San Antonio....He is the real deal and a great song writer. Ditto Ray Wylie....

That is an awesome tune! I've not really listened to The Derailers much, but I have heard the name. I'll check out more.

I shot this video of Junior myself, in NYC:

Don’t Forget none of these “God and Country “ phoney’s were willing to perform at Trumps inauguration.

I know Garth Brooks didn't perform at Trump's inauguration, but Toby Keith did.

Bro country = yuppies singing about dirt roads they have never driven and hard work they’ve never done.

This is probably a prime example of "Bro Country"--

From "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver:

It's Colorado rocky mountain high,
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky;
Friends around the campfire, and everybody's high!
Rocky mountain high...

The last time I saw a country music awards show, I was shocked how pathetic the performers are. Unless something changes drastically, it will be quite some time before I ever watch another one. I quit listening to current country music. The men all sounds the same — they don’t sing, they bleat like wounded sheep.

Too late. God gave us Country Classics and that’s good enough for me. This crap music and some of the bands (who look like they just walked out of a drug house) can kiss my grits!!!!

Max Stallings is great. His Banquet album is one of my favorites. Also, Randy Rogers, Charlie Robison, The Damn Quails, Stoney Larue, Jason Bolan, and dozens of other Texans and Okies. Real country/country rock is alive and well in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas! Nashville was great, but has begun to suck!

If that’s the direction they want to go it’s fine with me but they can KMA goodbye from ever watching any of their acts. Country music used to be conservative, pro American and even RELIGIOUS.

Garth Brooks is the one who started the wussification of Country Music.

That’s a FACT.
