His father was a minister. Early jobs, Washington I was a garbageman. You get eight hours’ worth of work, but you can do it in three. So you can go home as soon as you finish. Post office, you get three hours of work and you make it last eight. I did both. I liked being a garbageman better. But they weren’t bad jobs.

Acclaimed actor Denzel Washington has no patience for those who think acting is like going to war, he said during a recent Director’s Roundtable discussion by the Hollywood Reporter.
“People talk about the difficulty of making a movie and Im like, send your son to Iraq, that’s difficult,” Washington said during the interview.
