Stock up while you can.
Don’t forget more ammo, too.
Surprise! All those “anti-gun” parents have a .38 in the drawer.
Normally, I recommend thrift, but these are not normal times. Don’t you need another AR or two for your kids? Grandkids?
If I were in the market for more firearms, at this point I would also look at sub-compact handguns. There is a lot to be said for being able to defend yourself but still looking harmless. As this comes down to direct action from the thuggish left, it will be time to fall back on our Boy Scout training: “Be Prepared.” Extracting from a recent FR thread and other sources:
- Kel-Tek P-3AT, 10.1 ounces even with six .380 rounds, holstered it is basically the size and weight of an iPhone in a case. [The lightest and most concealable .380 on the market.]
- Ruger LC2, 13.2 ounces but otherwise roughly the same size as the Kel-Tek with a much better trigger.
- Glock 42, 14.1 ounces loaded and 0.94 inches thick in comparison to the 0.77 inch Kel-Tek and 0.75 inch LC2, but much more comfortable to shoot.
I put them all in a table, sorted by weight, for those who are interested:
Model caliber height weight(unloaded) length width rounds barrel
KelTek P-3AT .380 3.5” 8.3 oz 5.2” 0.77” 6 2.75”
Ruger LCII in .380 laser 0.380 3.71” 11.4 oz 5.17” 0.75” 6 2.75”
Glock 42 .380 4.13” 12.35 oz 5.94” 0.94” 6 3.25”
Kimber Ultra Carry 0.380 4” 13.4 oz 5.6” 1.08” 6 2.75”
Ruger LCRx .38 Special .38 sp 4.5” 13.5 oz 6.5” 1.28” 5 1.875”
Kahr PM9 9 mm 3” 14 oz 5.4” 0.9” 6 3.1”
Ruger LC9s Pro 9 mm 4.5” 17.1 oz 6” 0.9” 7 3.1”
Sig P365 9 mm 4.3” 17.8 oz 5.8” 1” 10 3.1”
Glock 43 9 mm 4.25” 18 oz 6.26” 1.02” 6 3.4”
Glock 26 Gen 3 (9MM) 9 mm 4.17” 21.7 oz 6.5” 1.18” 10 3.4”
Taurus PT111 9 mm 5.1” 22 oz 6.3” 1.2” 12 3.2”
Springfield XDs (.45 ACP) .45 4.4” 23.5 oz 7” 0.9” 5 4”
Sig Sauer P320SC 9 mm 5.3” 26 oz 7.2” 1.4” 10 3.9”
SIG-Sauer P239 9 mm 5.1” 29.5 oz 6.6” 1.18” 8 3.6”
I could go on, but I’ve shifted my focus from range guns and full-size handguns that put nice holes in the center of the 10 ring to ones that could be carried without any indication that I am armed but still hit in the black quickly. As much as I like my 1911s or even J-frame revolvers, they are too big to completely hide in a pocket.
Do I trust these gun grabbers? No
When you boil it down, these people are no different than Klansmen. They wish to deprive those who are not like them of their fundamental civil rights.
I have a Ruger SR9 that fits well IWB and no one ever notices.
Ruger SR9c 9 mm 4.6” 23.4 oz 6.85” 1.27” 17 3.4”
I left it off my post because it’s so thick, and I was going for the most concealable options, but you’re right. It’s a good small gun.
It’s actually a standard SR9 - not the c. I also have an LC9s I carry. No one has ever noticed them.
I do not trust anyone who is a useful idiot.
JoMa
Amen.
And spare parts for what you’ve got.
The wealthy white liberals have ruined NoVA. Wouldn’t trust them on anything.
