” In fact, when in full stealth configuration it can detect the F-22 from 100 miles,”
I highly doubt that is a fact.
Any missile with IR terminal guidance can take out a stealth aircraft. All they have to do is get close enough for IR to be useful.
Aim-9 sidewinder has a 20 mile range, max.
“Because to kill off the F-22, the USAF decided not to upgrade the F-22 with the newer electronics.”
That is correct.
But it still leaves the 35 as the most advanced.
“They bought it from being strong armed into it or by being incentivized by the USA Taxpayers buying it for them.”
You have no basis to assert that.
Or, if you do, please share it. Not conjecture.
My conjecture is far more realistic than yours.
“In fact, when in full stealth configuration it can detect the F-22 from 100 miles, while remaining undetected. “
That’s a lie.
The F-35 uses the same radar modules as the F-22, but the F-22 has a 20% larger radar area and modules which equal more power and detection. The F-22 is also much more stealthy than the F-35. This means the F-22 can detect the F-35 long before the F-35 can detect the F-22.
Look up the AN/APG-77 (F-22) and AN/APG-81 (F-35) radars.
Scary to think we could buy about 40 aircraft carriers for the cost of the F-35 program.
“You have no basis to assert that.”
Actually, I do have a basis: HISTORY!
Jeez, whaddaya think we are, stupid? We’ve seen such arm twisting and taxpayers monies spent that way many times before. Heck, just look at the UN and the NATO budgets and tell us who pays all the bills!
When we allowed all those aerospace companies to merge after the cold war we lost innovation and competiveness.
I am referencing IRST detection.
Not radar.
Granted, this is a big rocket, but it’s 800 miles away:

DAS with the Advanced EOTS is formidable, and best in the air.
Better distance than some airborne radars.
Yeah but they’re not much good without aircraft.
Personally, I think many of you including the F-35 haters need to read what real F-35, etc. pilots think of the F-35......then perhaps, STFU?

Dan Grazier knows nothing about aviation and regarding the F-35 just keeps peddling versions of his one article that has been debunked many times.
You are wrong about that and overestimating the ability of America to influence other countries. In Europe the political pressure is to have Eurofighter Typhoons and the ones wanting F-35s are the actual pilots and generals. German air-force chief was just fired because he liked F-35 for their coming Tornado replacement, but the politicians prefer Eurofighter.
Yes, the pilots all say how easy it is to fly. Great, if one like to fly extremely expensive planes that are easy to fly. However, ease of flight is not the issue. The issues are all the other systems do not work, can not work or have to be (in the case of its software) totally redesigned from scratch. The plane can soar above the fray, until the Russian BVR missiles fly, until it meets a SU-35. Then it becomes a very expense way to die.
It cannot fight, and has a low probability of survival in actual combat. The Israelis tried theirs in combat and now they sit idle.
Its a POS no matter what pilots say, and what else can they say - short of being demoted to desk jockey?
Try to make one aircraft do too many things and then keep upping the ante as technology improves and you get a never-ending series of “upgrades”. Had same trouble with NSA systems many years ago - they kept wanting more and more out of a single station and kept touting “cutting edge technology”. As head of training development I finally told them that they either had to draw a line and put a system out or wait 10 years and try again because the current systems were outdated and getting more outdated by the day as “cutting edge technology” moved on w/o them....got many dirty looks but 4 months later we were training on a system while they looked into developments for future systems.
Trebb, I am sure that all you say is true, but none of your experience is from F-35 project. Of course it had the
things all projects have, but if you look at it honestly then it is a tremendous success as far as these projects go.
Despite the conspiracy pushers it is actually true that every airforce wishes to have it.f35 has problems, but so does everything else.
Oh, and to add ... This boy Dan is lying. He takes a report of F-35 flying with alpha version just to test it, where the software to prevent dangerous maneuvering is too aggressive and presents it as fundamental defect of design even though it was fixed more than a year ago and he still published the long debunked lie 2 days ago. Saying he is not honest is an understatement.
I like some of the capabilities of the F-35 - could be a potent weapon if they iron out the bugs and then look at other potential capabilities - comparing it to an A-10 for close air support doesn't help any either - the Warthog was developed for a specific purpose and it is the best ever at what it does.
