That is just so sad.

I remember reading a book, and one of the chapters started with a description of a flock of sheep being startled by the sun rising in the morning, like they were every day. You almost have to wonder how something so terminally stupid can evolve in a competitive world. I would have to call it a strike against the theory of evolution.

I thought you were joking about them being so stupid they’d lay on their back and get stuck, but I googled it just to be sure, and there is a video of one on its back.

Wow. An animal almost as stupid and unable to stay alive in a state of nature as a leftist. I’d never have believed it.

Eagles will swoop down and peck out the eyes of a sheep in the fields. Then the eagle will land on the sheep's back and remove strips of hind quarter and loin about once every hour until sepsis, shock, or blood loss kills it. Then the eagle picks out a new mobile fresh meal.

Usually two to three days to die.

The sheep will just stand there blinded as long as it takes to succumb to being slowly eaten alive.

I flew my plane in and out of my grass strip. Whenever I landed or took off the entire flock of sheep would look up and watch the plane. No other animal that I have ever observed looks up except penguins. Sheep are the only land animal. We used to joke that it was because they were expecting God to take them.
