Yeah, that awful Darin Morgan episode not only killed any thought of watching the final two episodes, but it makes me less likely to ever go back and rewatch the original nine seasons. It was that hateful.
I wouldn't be so sure. Like in this show or book; only the very rich, corporations, or governments can afford it. It would surprise me if one day our mind's can be digitized. Will it be the real "us" with our existing personality, prejudices, life experiences, and knowledge? Given enough time and advances in technology it might be possible to approximate it if not outright duplicate it.
Never say never as they say - I guess...
Imagine being able to put the knowledge and training of someone highly skilled like fighter pilots or SEAL Team members into a blank slate of a person; maybe even a clone of that same person grown from a sample of their DNA. Then the questions start like does that clone have a soul? If so; what happened to the original soul then?
