Not a bad song...it beats rap...but it is so bland imho...if i want to hear song bout relating to other geographies and cultures....”tie me kangaroo down” or Men at Works...down under song is more enjoyable to me...or Lightfoots ALBERTA BOUND or MOUNTAINS AND MARYANN are better imho

Posting almost 2 months late here, but I’m listening to “Africa” and I remember seeing this thread. I love that song. I was pregnant with my son when it was popular. “Hurry, boy, she’s waiting there for you”. Makes me cry every time I hear it. The music and the blending of voices is so rich. My son is soon to be 35 and is married with two children of his own. How time flies......
