Just as an aside, I have a good friend in Eastern MA, a retired COL who had no interest in the VFW. He was asked to do something one day that involved them. He ended up going to the event and was impressed by the people and their mission. Obviously it varies from place to place. You might want to give it a look. You never know...you might find some similar souls.
You realize that the Masons are separate from your church, right? You can maintain your restrictive Christian values and belong. But, honestly, I dont think youd make it past the application phase.
My Grandfather was one in his hometown for many years. They did many good works locally.
The Mason’s, with all due respect to them, is dead as an organization. It’s more about selfish interests than anything that it used to be.

I know they are not officially a church but in a backhanded way they are working on Satan's side by saying it's a requirement to have a belief in a supreme being but that supreme being doesn't have to be the one true God. The implication is that there is not actual one true god, he is who you want him to be. They are the Oprah Winfrey of fraternal organizations. Why not just leave the concept out of the organization altogether? That is a serious question.
