I was a 1957 graduate from St. Cloud Tech, the only blacks that I can remember being in St Cloud at that time were baseball players for the Rox ball club. The team was a farm team for the NY Giants in the Northern League. I don’t remember any muslim family’s but there could have been some as they tend to stay to themselves when they are a distinct minority.
St. Cloud was always a very liberal city (maybe town as the population in 1957 was only about 25,000-28,000. A great party town with the St. Cloud Teachers College, and The Hospital had a Nursing School that was excellent. I have only been back to St. Cloud a few times in the past 20 years and the change is very disappointing to say the least. Got out and have never looked back, just not a good place to live if you love freedom and liberty. Our MAGA President Trump would not feel very welcome in this liberal oasis. I’m sure a few friends might guess my identity, but most have left St. Cloud and made their mark in other parts or have passed on. Go Tigers.

Imagine a quaint Mexican village in the mountains that have their tradition. Would the locals there like to be overrun by a bunch of boisterous Minnesota Viking fans who start popping up sports bars everywhere?
