Smaller government, more freedom, capitalism, states’ rights. Sounds good to me.

I could wish, really badly wish, that the worst vice in America was (excessive) marijuana smoking. God would truly have blessed America if that is the case. (I don’t smoke at all, I never cared to.)
We don’t cure a disease by band-aiding the symptoms.
Nor do we head down a road of virtue by ignoring history.

So was tobacco and you saw what happened to it.
Combine tobacco with alcohol and you have a way for lawyers to get rich

People who fill vacuums in their personal lives by smoking pot (I’m not speaking of medicinal uses, or even possible social uses) do so because God isn’t in that vacuum.
The answer here isn’t a prohibition which is a mostly vain whack-a-mole. The answer here is the evangelist who tells of Someone that is more worthy and helpful than pot.
When pot is bad, it is bad because it is too little for us. Not because it is too much.

So what will be the next thing on the scene. Pot liqueurs?
Anyhow, I hope we will call out the evangelists long before we call out the dogs. The folks who remind us in this context that God made every green herb for our use, have a good start. I’d tell them please don’t stop there by all means. Look at what (and Whom) else God gave.

You have a substance that, if smoked, can lead to cancer just like tobacco. You also have the same substance that causes inebriation just like alcohol. Put those together and the lawyers will have a field day.

If it became once more something akin to tobacco and alcohol, it would be another lucrative venture, but not the greatest one on earth.
If people lack self control, at best we don’t have a good long term solution by trying vainly to shut them in a rubber room. They need to know about a Spirit whose embracing will bestow self control.
