When's Gustave Whitehead Day? 😀 I'm not sure if he flew in 1901, but he needs to be remembered.

Gustave Whitehead and Otto Lilienthal were flying prior to the Wright Brothers.
Otto was gliding in the 1850’s and Gustave had a powered flight in August of 1901.
The Smithsonian refuses to look into the matter because it does not own the Wright Flyer - it’s on loan from a British museum under the condition that if another pilot/plane was prover to have flown prior the the Wright Bros. the aircraft must be returned.
