"Well, the thing *I* learned from dogs is to walk in a circle three times before lying down."
Well said! I also like animals and do try to learn about them as they are. Various neighbors have assigned human characteristics to their free ranging dogs, spoken very affectionately about them, sworn to protect them from the agricultural interests of nearby farmers with false allegations or violence and even assaulted veterinarians during emotional arguments. But they didn't build fences for their dogs or learn to keep them healthy and well behaved.

A moderate muzzie v. a rabid dog. I’ll take the rabid dog.

Better beings? I’m sorry, do you see groups of dogs getting together to feed the less fortunate dogs? Are dogs working at curing cancer, AIDS, diabetes, etc.
Do dogs build hospitals to take care of sick humans?
Better beings? Gimme a break.

Well said. We typically don’t like our neighbors because of contempt prior to investigation. They may do something we dislike, and vice versa. Instead of focusing on that, we should take time to know them better.

Dogs are property.I think it is important to keep that legal definition,
but let's face it, they are much much more than that.
Calling them slaves demeans one of the greatest gifts our Creator has bestowed upon us.
