Maybe, but could be someone with morbid curiosity. Nothing is probably left in there anyway.

Cleanup crew from some government agency covering its footprints.
Not at all thinking that a government intelligence agency was behind this, just that the shooter may have worked for them in the not so long ago past.

What difference does it make at this time anyhow> It’s not like it is the US embassy in Benghazi following a terrorist attack.

One would think that it would be good police work to have some surveillance on the guys properties to secure the crime scenes and check for accomplices visiting given the profile of this case.

Like... DUH!
That’s exactly what I was thinking. If the investigation is still ‘ongoing’, why are we not securing the crime scene?
San Bernadino all over again.Jeez!

Not many police do stakeouts these days. Stakeouts aren't comfortable enough.

That was the good and wise thing to do.

They put up that yellow crime scene tape around the house, and put up billboards around Las Vegas asking for tips.
What more do you want?

People are losing their damn minds over this shooting. IF this was a .gov operation why didn’t they sanitize the house in the many hours after the shooting and before the Reno PD was asked to secure the place? Any organization competent enough to have executed this op - if it was an op - would not leave burglary evidence behind unless that was the plan.
BTW this house is inside the Del Webb community and they have security cameras at the entrances and very nosy neighbors.
That said, the FBI is proving that they are a bunch of incompetent losers - again.

Maybe but it is a retirement community and the nearest place to have resident “kids” is some distance away. Reno is currently in the midst of a burglary outbreak due to meth addicts taking everything not nailed down. I can easily see some meth heads thinking this would be an easy job. A guy I know had his tent trailer stolen from his driveway - it was found stripped and abandoned - with the hitch lock intact.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=36&v=JxmEFeKy8aI That's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
The guy's basic science is sound, but his analysis of the audio files is full of crap. He's trying to use audio files taken by many different people from very different locations using very different devices, and analyse them as if they all were taken from the middle of the venue. He hasn't taken into account the variable fire rate inevitable when using a bump fire stock, and he has not tried to make any echo analysis.
If you look at the area where the shooting took place, there are three hotel buildings surrounding the shooting venue that will create very strong echoes; the Tropicana, the Excalibur, and the MGM Grand.
Dr. Greer is full of it.
