There are other talented female drivers. Cristina Nielsen and Katherine Legge from IMSA come to mind. She, like Simona de Silvestro (who IMO had more talent than Danica during their Indycar tenure), have come off the top rung.
There are a lot of talented people for those few top-tier driving spots, and male or female without tons of outside money or buckets of talent and results, either of which fund teams, it doesn’t happen.

What's next for Danica Patrick after losing her NASCAR Cup Series ride? Too bad. She always seemed a colorful competitor and easy to like.
A spunky competitor and constant underdog.
I, for one, will miss her.
