They're at war with their neighbors. End of discussion.
How is saying that the three guys who founded H&K were former Nazi engineers who may have a problem with Jews? It is the truth. The whole BDS thing reminds me of the way that 1930s Germany dealt with Jewish businesses and I think that is what this is. Europeans in general have been pretty negative towards Jewish people since long before WW2 and that probably will not change anytime soon. Why else would a German business put Israel on a list where they are conspicuous for being the only free democracy on it? In my view, you are pathetic for pulling the group guilt card and not being able to recognize that some things may just be what they seem. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I generally think it is a duck. You may see it differently. Great. You can take your group guilt thingy and shove it.
Attempting to control the discussion again?
Presumed war with their neighbors does not define Israel as a “war zone”, sorry. I can visit Israel and not be caught in a pitched battle between opposing armies. Events beyond Israel’s borders are not applicable, even if Israel’s military is active in such things. Therefore, H&K’s cited (by the Manchester Guardian, remember) “reason” of Israel being a “countr(y) that violate(s) corruption and democracy standards” would be the one they are presumably applying.
I see the logic. It’s inescapable.
All Germans hate Jews.
But H&K is run by Germans.
Therefore H&K hates Jews.

I’ve heard this logic before, just a little differently.
All whites are racist.
But Donald Trump is white.
Therefore Donald Trump hates black folks.
QED
See the aftermath of the riots in Charlottesville, VA for the second one.
Not only towards the Jews, but towards the State of Israel. And the UN, whose charter the EU claims to “respect the principles of” (it’s based on the 1936 USSR constitution, even worse), magnifies the antipathy thereof; Resolution 3379, which appeared under a secretary general that was secretly a Nazi, was/is one of the strongest expressions thereof, although not solely of Europe.
Why? Springfield Arms XD's are equivalent and or superior to H & K at an affordable price. And they are much less accident prone than Glocks.
Strawmen. Nobody is applying “post hoc ergo propter hoc” here, save yourself. The actions of H&K and the “reasons” they cite are the matters in question.
Not at all. You've read #62; you already replied to it. The author of that piece attempted to smear the current owners of H&K with the sins of its founders. He apparently believes in group guilt. Perhaps you do, as well. The Black Liars Movement does, hence my comparison. I reject such leftist nonsense.
Well, insofar as you continue to raise emotional arguments, it is indeed specious to throw such accusations around. None of your claims are logically based, e.g. Israel is “at war with its neighbors” and therefore is a “war zone” that H&K are justified in not doing business with according to their stated new “principles” such as they are”, never mind H&K not being proven to have cited Israel as such anyway, never mind there being any justification for doing so anyhow.
And herein, you are committing errors of omission. Banning sales of arms to Mahometan countries is not the same as banning them to a Jewish state, and there is no equivalence, rhyme or reason. Same goes with the African nations in question, which vary from Mahometan to communist with generally no in-between. So you have to attempt to justify it by their “war zone” claim (not specifically stated by them) because, rightly, the claim of Israel being a “countr(y) that violate(s) corruption and democracy standards” is demonstrably false. Why go to such lengths to attempt this?
You replied to #62 with strawmen. Being logical fallacies, that cannot answer the possible fallacy of “sins of the father” that you herein raise. It would be more logical to have the argument thereof center around Andreas Heeschen, the current owner of H&Kif any evidence can be found that is applicable, of course.
All Germans did not found H&K, a group of ex-Nazi engineers did. Is it somehow naive of me to assume that Nazis may have had a problem with Jews? The only point I see that is inescapable is that the BDS movement is by virulently anti-Israel and most of Europe and an alarming number of organizations in the US strongly support it. It is the hip thing to do there. I think this is H&K’s way of getting in on the BDS action. I don’t know if H&K is doing it because they hate Israel themselves or if it just to kiss up to other Europeans who hate Israel so they can sell more of their products. I would not be surprised to find it is a bit of both. I do know that Israel is the only free, western style democracy on that list and I find that troubling. I guess you are OK with it. Good for you.
That was Kurt Waldheim?
The same. His past only came out in 1986, when he attained the presidency of Austria. Many attempts were made to cover up for him, even with Victor Ostrovsky attempting to smear Mossad on his behalf.
I was stationed in Germany at that time. I remember that he was an Intel officer and claimed he somehow knew nothing about executions his unit was conducting. I think he got elected anyways, didn’t he?
Yes, on the second attempt.
The fact that he let Resolution 3379 get through says it all about him though, really. The resolution also accused Israel of having an “unholy alliance” with South Africa during the time of apartheid.
