Your Millennial anti-theft device only works some of the time.
I’ve been driving a stick for over 50 years, figuring it was unlikely to get stolen, because they are fun to drive.
Unfortunately, I saw a recent story where the thief shot the car’s owner when the thief realized he couldn’t drive the car.
It’s New Orleans. It’s a 24/7 city where time does not exist.
I was in the service in the 80’s when we transformed all of our vehicles from manual transmissions to automatics. One of the reasons is that we have actually, in the past, lost personnel because we had people in combat situations die because they jumped into a vehicle which was manual and they did not know how to drive it therefore they were not able to get out of harms way.
A good reminder to always keep doors locked and windows up high enough to block predators from reaching in. Especially in Hollygrove!
You got to drive down Earhart, but that’s a depressing and ugly drive to Old Metairie. Claiborne to Jefferson Hwy. Takes longer, it’s scenic, and you won’t get carjacked.
Oh yeah. I’ve lived in Marigny, Fat City, Tarrytown, Algiers, Slidell and Metairie Ridge. Up until Katrina, that is. I sure do miss the area.
Really interesting. Something a lay person would not be aware of. Also, thank you for the cool information and for your service.
Also your answer makes a lot of sense.
