We need the FDA and USDA to act immediately to make sure no one uses the word “rice” unless they have a government license to do so. People can easily become confused between rice and cauliflower, and it is a serious threat to public health. What if a child got their hands on this? Without knowing the difference, they could easily kill themselves.

“when did riced become a verb?
I understand the sentiment, but potato ricers have been around for over a century.
To: nickcarraway
Clearly this is simply Cauliflower identifying as Rice. This is a normal, natural thing. </S>

Man that is nasty stuff. Esp if the wife lets it sit in the fridge to long. I finally convinced her to buy the frozen stuff so the fridge does not smell like a fart.

...asked rice farmer Matthew Sligar. Secondly, when did riced become a verb? At least 120 years ago if not more...

....... Riced cauliflower I mean, why even call it riced cauliflower?..... Apparently they've never heard of "Riced Potatoes" or the kitchen implement known as a Potato Ricer

Click The Pic For Link My Grandmother loved her potato ricer. She used it for other things too like riced turnips, parsnips, etc.

I often make a substitute for mashed potatoes with cauliflower.
Hard to tell the difference.

Have you ever run a “cost per serving” analysis, potato vs cauliflower?

They really think people don’t know the difference between rice and cauliflower?
To: rightwingcrazy

I thought 'Riced' only applied to car owners who watched too many Vin Diesel movies.

“Sligar worries riced cauliflower is confusing consumers and may have an impact on rice sales. “
Yes, what was that? Article VI of the constitution that required FedGov to make sure consumers do not get confused?
So what? Then we’ll have confused consumers and an impact of rice sales. Here’s a hot tip, Asia is full of rice eaters.
