My mother made go to a zombie free civics class!
Or was it a civics class with free zombies?
I remember now! I got a Heathkit kit where you can make your own zombies.
I wish I could share the audio for the fake ad “Night of the living deadheads” (circa 1970s or 1980s).
They used Grateful Dead music and audio snippets from the original movie.
“Why do they do this?”
“They’re all messed up!”
Roger Ebert reviewed in in 1968 and wasn’t expecting much but he really liked it. He did note that the kids who’d been dropped off by their parents expecting a typical Saturday matinee type film weren’t holding it together very well.
Still far less gruesome or sadistic than the films of HG Lewis that had been coming out for years by that point.
That, IMO was a fricking classic. And because it was British, it was understated which made it all the more better.
We all can blame Shakespeare for that with his “suspend your disbelief” mantra.
Yeah, I think I saw that more times than Star Wars. Think they'll play "The Gonk" at Romero's funeral?
RIP, Mr. Romero.
BTW, I hope that everyone knows that the phrase, “Living Dead,” wasn’t the description of the zombies.
It was a description for the people who were still alive when the outbreak happened.
They were living, but soon to be dead.
Or The Evil Dead / Army of Darkness movies.
“Name’s Ash.
[cocks rifle]
Housewares.”
If you find yourself in a zombie situation, it is critical to determine whether they are slow (The Walking Dead, Land of the Dead)) or fast zombies 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, Legend).
With slow zombies you can walk backwards, eat an apple ... with fast ones, well, that’s like running from a bear.
You don’t seem to be ready for the zombie apocalypse, pilgrim, which is really an allegory for the coming civil war.
Do you even have an evil black rifle you silly mook?
RIP.
That dialogue was priceless....thanks.
The “evilist” looking rifle I have is stylishly brown and black.
