The Wall Fire is now 35 percent contained and only grew around 350 acre overnight. Wonderful news for all in the area. There are stories of folks losing homes and not having insurance. That is because in California there is only one carrier left that will insure mobile homes and they may or may not insure you. It’s possible some people that lost their homes lost their insurance after the Swedes Fire in 2013 which hit the same area. I saw a Go Fund Me page for a family that lost their home due to lack of insurance and at first I was skeptical but remember our own travails in trying to get insurance after the other carrier left the CA market. Not a good thing.

Why there is a difference between mobile home and stick home insurance is beyond me. Both burn just as well.

I’ve known many wildfire-fighters over the years through work. Many ex-military and rugged conservative types.

I have this photo on my face book page next to the Iwo Jima and World Trade Center flag photos. What a wonderful montage of patriotism!
