Jeff Schwilk, ( who has a very interesting history) founder of San Diegans for Secure Borders added comments, in the comments section that were ommitted in the article.

"These deported foreign citizen veterans REJECTED U.S. Citizenship when they were in the service, now they want to hide behind their service to be forgiven for their deportable offenses."

I wonder how a foreigner can reject U.S. citizenship while in the service. Is it possible one didn't apply because he didn't know ? or was it offered and rejected.
