I found her dog book in the remainder pile at B&N about two weeks after it was released. (Right-thinking American book readers are no fools!)
No “about too”, it already has. I read their ratings are below MSNBC for the first time ever. Murdoch’s kids want it to be more like CNN, well they got the ratings part down.
Yes, I dvr it and watch it in the morning. It’s a good show.
I think O’Reilly realizes a fledgling network like OAN can’t pay him what he was making at Fox. But at the same time, he’s not going to sign on for a low, seven-figure salary. Between his Fox earnings (currently collecting a $25 million buyout) and what he makes from his books and production company, he has more than enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life.
One option for OAN in signing O’Reilly and Hannity would be a deal similar to the radio contracts signed by Rush Limbaugh and other top hosts. Rush’s current deal is almost entirely incentive based. What he makes is determined by ratings and advertising revenue. OAN could also offer them an equity stake in the network, though I doubt Charles Herring would be willing to go that far.
I’ve tried to watch Tucker but I had to stop because he lets these crazy lunatics get away with making false statements about facts and conservatives, without challenging or correcting them. So what’s the point of watching? It just makes me more annoyed.
I do like Greg Gutfield when he makes serious political analysis. Other than that, I like Judge Jeanine. That’s it.
DJT can do a lot to feature OAN, Breitbart, CT, and other conservative outlets to increase exposure. I hope he does.
I watch nothing on Fox these days, except for Hannity. I read news websites. Nothing I see on the TV news these days is worth watching. Everyone has an agenda.

I wouldn’t watch if he didn’t usually checkmate these idiots. Sometimes he gives up but he always exposes them as freaks.
I knew someone who had her own radio program. She rented the time slot from the station for a fixed amount, found her own advertisers, and kept the revenue. The difference between her ad revenue and her time slot rental was her profit (or loss).
Believe it or not, Pat Robertson's CBN News 700 Club - Christian Broadcast News has great potential. It's political correspondent, David Brody, was traveling with Trump o'seas - and appeared on Meet The Press in olden days of Tim Russert. Security / terrorism authority Eric Steckelbeck started out on CBN. Their Middle East reporter, Chris Mitchell, and Roaming reporter(s) around about are world class - and I can make that statement based on my years in network news.
Unhappily, Pat Robertson is letting aging catch up with him, and his son, Gordon Robertson, appears to not care a flip about news. Also, when Pat is on set, he gives commentaries on some stories; his perceptions are not what they used to be, and tend to wander into the mists of Avalon sometimes. 😩
The potential is there, but the future looks a bit bleak. Sad to see a top class news organization possibly fading to black.
It’s called block programming, and it’s been used by news/talk stations (in particular) for years. Those “Ask the Expert” shows you hear in the evenings or on weekends are nothing more than the station selling an hour of air time to a financial adviser, HVAC contractor, tax “expert” or someone else offering a product or service.
In Rush’s case, it’s a little more complicated—and financially advantageous for him. Local affiliates pay a fee to carry his show and the advertising time is split between the stations and Rush’s syndicator. The local outlet sells commercials to sponsors in their area—usually at their top rate—while Premier Networks and its advertising partners offer national spots during their breaks.
I’ve been told that 60 seconds of air time on Rush goes for at least $16,000, and he’s selling at least 5 minutes an hour. That means the national ad sales total at least $1.2 million a week, but again, the actual totals are calculated (in part) by the number of inquiries and actual sales generated by certain sponsors. When your hear him mention a promo code “Rush,” his compensation for Life Lock, IDrive or another sponsor is being determined by the sales he generates for that firm.
Best of luck to your friend; hosts with some talent and drive can use that type of arrangement to build a listener base and generate income at the same time.
I’ve watched the work of David Brody and Chris Mitchell and agree with your assessment. However, I don’t think CBN is the foundation for a new conservative network; the Christian message of the network would turn off a lot of viewers, despite the fact the world desperately needs to hear that message.
Beginning to think the real solution is to take an existing platform—like OAN—and “merge” resources from other networks, including Newsmax, the Blaze and even CBN News, and use that as the foundation for a new conservative news network. Lot of talent currently on the beach, and with sufficient funding, an expanded OAN could attract significant viewership—and sooner than you might expect. They would need enough backing to sustain losses for upwards of five years, but after that, they should be in the black and profitable.
I agree but it seems to be a pipe dream for now. I have predicted to family that CBN News will start losing talented newsies who cannot sit around in the wings waiting for an opening in the curtain. Pat is fading and his son Gordon does not value newscasting - perhaps for the reasons you mention. For my part, I enjoyed a Christian perspective on the news; that has pretty much been lost at CBN today. For some strange reason I am able to maintain an open mind - to a point.
Brody has a web page - The Brody File - although I have never visited it. We are talking about broadcast news and I do not have that much time to skim over numerous web sites. Same with some web broadcasts like Beck, Levin, etc. We have about three hours or so at Mi Casa in the evening for TV, and we like to watch more than depressing news revelations every day.
Do you remember Paul Weyrich? He tried an OANN sort of experiment - at a time when there was nothing like it on the air - National Empowerment Television cum America's Voice. He was eventually forced out by his own Board... a true conservative pioneer.
