I haven’t finished reading the thread, but I wonder if this is something other than a camera. I live near woods and a creek and have all sorts of wildlife activity, deer, coyotes, raccoons, etc. We have installed “predator eyes” which turn on a red light at night to make them think that they’ve been spotted. It has been mistaken as a surveillance camera by our neighbors too. I’m not saying that your neighbor isn’t spying on you, but offering that it might be something else.

The only creature of any size would be our cats and we try to get them inside at night. Not always successful. The 10 feet to our property line isn’t going to bring in any animal. If they want to see wildlife, it wouldn’t be on that side of the house. And it’s only one red light.

Mother has one with a red light that looks across her front lawn. She has just one neighbor and he’s not that direction so she’s not bothering anyone.

My MIL got me a thing to hang outside. It has a glass ball about the size of a tennis ball - maybe smaller. The glass is clear, but sort of cringley and cracked. It has a small solar panel and lights up a small LED inside the ball at night.

Our light changes color, and it refracts around inside the ball because of the crinkly texture.

It was pretty neat for the first night - but after that it doesn’t really work. The light lasts about 2 minutes now, and very faint. Cheap Chinese Crap.

Here’s something with three balls and stained-glass:

That’s brilliant! We can definitely give that a try. If it’s bad enough, they might move! Of course, what weirdo would we get next?

Your comment reminds me - I was protesting at an abortion clinic and the owner of the clinic thought she would videotape us as an intimidation technique. She got real testy one day and rushed my van with her recorder. Well, my van had tinted windows. As she was taping me I pulled up my garage door opener and pointed it at her as if I was taping her. She backed away pretty much afeared.

What a dumbass.

Mystery solved! Thank you so much. I tried doing a search for an outside ornament last night but didn’t find a match. The neighbor has it under his covered porch so the solar panel can’t do anything but shine a tiny red light. Whew, called hubby and his mind is eased.

Thanks, everyone.

Admit it.
You’d have had more fun firing high wattage lasers at ‘em.

;-)

I haven’t tried it, but youtube has many videos on how to make your own lasers. It doesn’t seem real complicated.

I may be seeing a pattern here. You should move into a new neighborhood.

If you start having problems with new neighbors, the problem is probably you.

A ball of ground beef mixed with some D-Con (strychnine) would be a lot cheaper.
