How easy it is to ignore that Xi Jinping is the current General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, in addition to being President of the People’s Republic of China.
Call me old fashioned but I’m not in favor of singing for the leader of world communism.
Chinese are culturally different from ourselves, maybe that’s obvious to some but judging by the responses here it’s not obvious to others. Trump’s granddaughter speaking Mandarin Chinese, let alone reciting a traditional Chinese poem or singing a traditional song, is a very important thing in their worldview. It shows respect, it gives them face. That little girl, Arabella, is hugely popular in China because of it, as is her mother. Chinese women have in turn made Ivanka something of a role model, they hold her in very high regard. Playing to the people of China is a good move for Trump and a good move for Xi, so I seriously doubt that either one of them were rolling their eyes as so many here are. There are some tough negotiations ahead in the near future, so all the goodwill that can be generated now is going to be a good thing going forward. It’ll help the medicine go down for the Chinese.

So how about Jared coming out and making a few speeches, let us get to know him. What I’ve read is not encouraging. I’d like to see for myself if he lives up to Trump’s high opinion. Jared is a Dem, connected to Soros, convicted dad bought his way into Harvard. He’s 36! And if he drives Bannon out, a big chunk of public support will leave with him. Why do these vapid children have so much influence?
It’s Trump. He trusts family above all others. Haven’t read his books, have you?

I am over Ivanka now. And her cross-eyed teen husband, too. When Ivanka came out with that vacuous remark about “being complicit in making the world a better place” — I realized we have a narcissistic nitwit on our hands. Then she tweeted about being proud of the Syrian air strikes—now there’s a story that Trump was influenced by her to order the strike...and I’m wondering if it’s not Fake.

Who he trusts is who he trusts. It doesn’t mean America should trust who he trusts. They’re pampered, fatuous thirty-somethings. If Jared wants to be a player, maybe he should at least INTRODUCE HIMSELF. Talk to us. I know who Steve Bannon is. Kushner is callow, wispy and out of his depth. I thought the couple was a charm offensive and that was great. But Trump shouldn’t set off missles because Pretty Baby cries over sad pictures. Ivanka was hanging with Cecile Richards — guess what, I can produce some gruesome pictures that might make Ivanka cry about Planned Parenthood.
