I learned to respect gasoline at a Boy Scout camp ceremonial bonfire that was being filmed for a national TV promotional.

The wood was stacked high and doused with a gallon of lantern fuel (white gas) and a flaming arrow slid down a wire from a tree only to go out on the way down.

In the minute it took to re-rig the flaming arrow the fumes spread out away from the fire towards all of us sitting in a circle.

On the second attempt everyone on the first and second rows went ass over tea kettle backwards when the fireball erupted and rolled out in a loud whoosh. The fact it was being filmed for a commercial made it all the more hilarious.
