Spring break (starting as a junior in high school) was out in Jackson Hole for skiing. High school it was rough - about 1000 miles one way. College was better - about 500 miles away.

They used to have rooms at the base of the hill that could sleep six(?) - crammed in there with bunk beds. I recall one year in college where we had 7 of us.

Cereal for breakfast
Beer and snickers for lunch
Beer and top raman for dinner
We were there for the skiing so pretty worn out
to do any partying afterwards.

Heard later on he died on the way to the hospital.

On one of my vacations in Cancun (not during Spring Break), I heard sirens pulling up to the motel in the middle of the night. Nothing after that.

I asked the desk clerk next morning what happened. He said a drunk kid fell off the balcony and died on the pavement. "Happens all the time. They keep it out of the news and just notify the parents."
