Not far from where I work now. I chuckled when you mentioned DC Transit. Gone by nearly half a century. I remember it well. My mom used to take the Federal Triangle DC Transit to work every day.
DC transit was always crowded, and being only 5’4 with heels left me under armpits hanging on. Yikes, but I survived. We walked down to PA avenue when RFK was killed to watch the funeral procession, that was amazing, but history and very somber.
Slow reply here. In fact, this is my first post on Free Republic!
For 20-plus years, as a minister in the DC area, I have taken 100s of groups and thousands of people around the city to share the overwhelming evidence of America’s Christian heritage visible in our nation’s capital. The evidence is there IF you know where to look and you know the actual words & true stories of our Founding Fathers.
I have a host of free materials I could send you by e-mail or snail-mail. And if you’re interested, we could have a phone conversation where I can lay out many ideas and options for your time in DC. Blessings!
I am going to Washington D.C. soon. Booked tickets on https://lowcost.club/, packed clothing, a photocamera. I am going to make a few photos in Shenandoah National Park (just 75 miles from the bustle of the city). So I strongly recommend to visit it. I heard it’s a nice place.
Nice!
