I only have one chrome gun, a .357 Rossi, and it was practically a gift. The rest are all Amish plain.
Ok, a two-tone S&W .40.

That one is on my bucket list. I simply must discharge one of those bad boys before i leave this earth.

Orange, so everybody thinks it’s a squirt gun and doesn’t harass you for carrying it.

I like basic black - some brown in the grip looks nice, but the 1911 was designed like the original Fords - basic black all the way instead of “pretty”.

I did mine in Black T with stainless controls, etc.
Birdsong Black T
Unfortunately, Walter Birdsong passed away. He used to answer the phone there (Les Baer also used to answer the occasional call to his company.) Walter answered when I called to ask about shipping my pistol. After he gave me all the information I needed, he told me about the various services his company offered. For an additional fee, he would apply his coating to the propellers on my nuclear submarine or my deck gun.
Needless to say, at the time I was very sad because I did not have any deck guns or nuclear submarines. :(
These days the coating is black or OD. The scratch on the slide is my fault. I didn't do a full rail job on the frame. I decided to sacrifice a little accuracy for reliability. It rubbed. Oh well.

What color goes best with your shoes and purse?
To: Cold War Veteran - Submarines
My starting point is a stainless steel frame and components. What did you buy?
