“I dont own a cell but going S to look at homes and will need to contact realtors etc...Is a TRAC good for those type trips and emergencies??”

For a REAL emergency, 911 always works, you don’t have to have any time stored up. If you mean as a handy for family type emergencies, it’s fine. You just have the minutes stored on your phone.
If you mean contacting realtors to talk or send a text message/photo, it would be fine, too. Same as calling anyone else, I expect. The coverage is pretty good. The minutes you don’t use roll over to the next month (each month), so it’s cumulative.
For more (and better) info you should check out the site:
You can make sure Tracfone serves your area here:

Here’s the FAQs:

Absolutely. There is something seriously wrong if the child is not trustworthy.
US Cellular told us that they can block these types of charged calls from happening. They do it from their end upon request of the prime person on the account. Not sure about your carrier.
Oh, here’s an excellent site if you’re researching about using Tracfone:
“Tracfone Reviews”

Here’s the one I have, it’s at Walmart for $10. Should be that price at Tracfone too.

(If you buy a phone from the site it is sent Fedex so someone has to be around to sign for it. If a phone costs 19.99 or more, the Fedex shipping is free. )
thanks
I may pull the plug on my land line pretty soon...I just dont use it,
****************
I did that back in 2005 and never gave it a 2nd thought.
Yer welcome, hope it is of some help.
Tracfone’s worked good for me for about 8 years. It’s great, especially for basic phone service. If a person wants to do a lot fancy smartphone stuff or play online games, watch movies and the like other phones/services might be a better option.
But if I lived alone I could dump the landline and get by just fine (and a lot cheaper) with just Tracfone service.
If you were interested, I’d suggest buying an inexpensive model that comes with double or triple minutes - that is, when you buy minutes, you get double/triple minutes added free (Tracfones come with 20 free minutes.)
Then add a 60 minute card (if the phone has double/triple minutes it’d give 120/180 minutes at the same price) and try it out to see if it’s for you or if it’s not your cuppa tea.
The Tracfone Reviewer site I linked to also has coupon codes
where you can get even more minutes free. At any rate, you can do the whole process online - buying a phone and then adding minutes whenever you want.
This is how little snowflakes are created. Just take it away from her period. How old is this kid?
