How awful. She is a very lucky woman to survive an ordeal like that.

Well, I’m glad she didn’t pass away. Who would play Peter Griffin’s boss at the Pawtucket Brewery?

Remember what Obi Wan said. No such thing as luck. The Force is strong with this one.

Fisher was kept alive with CPR administered by a fellow passenger after she was not breathing for 10 minutes or so, it has been claimed.
If that's true, that's not a good prognosis.

I think it means CPR was employed for ten minutes while she wasn’t breathing on her own, not the everyone on the plane stood around for ten minutes before doing anything.

Stopped breathing for 10 minutes or so? If this is an accurate report, she’z not out of the woods yet. My prayers for Carrie Fisher and her family.
To: servantboy777
Wouldn’t that most likely result in a comatose state ? How can her condition be reported as stable ?

It’s stable, because she is probably brain dead.

“Stable” as in consistent. Her vitals signs (heartbeat, respiration, temperature, blood pressure, red blood cell count) have not dramatically changed for a while.
To: erlayman
Sometimes. Just depends on the moment. If she was dead for a particular amount of time.....could result in some brain damage.

If she really stopped breathing for 10 minutes that would be serious brain damage lack of oxygen.
