Maybe there’d be room for Augie Meyers (Sir Douglas Quintet and Texas Tornadoes...”She’s About A Mover”, “Mendocino”, “Hey Baby Que Paso”) on that stage.

Here are 2 songs he recorded a few years ago:

Obama Blues (2012)

and Obama Pinata (with video) from 2014

“Someone like Katy Perry or a Justin Timberlake actually has a morality and it would never allow them to behave in the way that politicians are behaving around the office of the president-elect right now,” Renshaw said.

Didn't Mr. Timberlake appear on NBC around Christmas one year singing (in a video) about sticking his d*** in a box and presenting it as a gift to a (presuming here) lady? Morality my arse.

It IS news that they are “still together” as the fat one was launching her solo career at SXSW in Austin last year.

Maybe Augie could do a rendition of ‘Adios, Mexico’ too.

He should bring in new talent and make them famous.

He should really trigger liberals and bring in nothing but Russian performers :o).

What’s more, despite the Left’s revisionist history, the government did not create or enforce the blacklist (and truth be told, neither did Hollywood).

Red Channels (or was it Red Currents) tracked the Marxist remarks and ties of celebrities. It was privately published and was used by some to create boycott lists.

Hollywood was afraid of the boycott so when the studios would hire some of the blacklisted writers (who might slip some propaganda messaging in their works or if nothing else send some of their profits to Marxist groups) the production companies would use pseudonyms to slide the blacklist persons’ involvement past those monitoring such things.

The Vichy Chicks lineup has not been the ORIGINAL band since they became famous. The fat one was a later addition.

Hollywood still runs the entertainment business. Nashville is the recording studios, what networks and magazines are run from there?

If you don’t get cover placement and tv coverage and placement in movies and commercials, you don’t exist to 98.2% of the market.

Hiring Katy Perry or Justin Timberlake to play the inauguration is akin to seeking Cher and Rod Stewart to sing at the Jimmy Carter 1977 inauguration. Ultimately meaningless.

Despite his obvious desire for Hollywood approval, Trump may only now be realizing how unpopular he is with many in the entertainment industry, Renshaw said.

I think he realizes. And he may just decide to make a project of smashing the power of the Hollywood Gay Mafia over the entertainment industry.

For the life of me I can’t remember who played Ronald Reagan’s 1980 inauguration. But I remember the Berlin wall came down...

Every entertainer who has been asked to perform and has refused should be forbidden from every government affiliated entertainment for the fullness of the DJT administration. That includes patriotic events, 4th of July veterans events - even the Super Bowl. If the NFL wants American soldiers to use as props for their annual event, the boycotting entertainers can not participate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_inauguration_of_Ronald_Reagan

Reagan’s inaugural address was 2,452 words long. It utilized the vista offered by the West Front, invoking the symbolism of the Presidential memorials and Arlington National Cemetery in the distance.[2] As Reagan was giving his address, 52 Americans held hostage in Iran for the previous 444 days were released.

...President Reagan was about to have lunch with Congressional leaders in Statuary Hall in the Capitol after the inauguration ceremony when he was informed that the plane carrying the hostages had left Iranian airspace.[3] During the luncheon, he broke the news saying: “With thanks to Almighty God, I have been given a tag line, the get-off line, that everyone wants for the end of a toast or a speech, or anything else. Some 30 minutes ago, the planes bearing our prisoners left Iranian air space, and they’re now free of Iran.”

that’s a hard act for any performer to follow

The NYet Times didn’t even find room in their column space to devout any attention to what celebrities may have been at the inauguration. And they call THAT journalism? < /sarc >
