They left in the 60s/70s, after the riots.

Any advice Philly Metro FRiends?
I still enjoy walking through the historical district. It might sound corny but walking up the Art Museum (Rocky) steps is pretty cool and the views along the river drives are beautiful.

**** Philly Metro Ping ****

The reality used to be that 16th and Walnut should have been a completely safe area to walk.

I expect that the Colonial/Historic areas are still “reasonably” safe. With so much lawlessness in Democrat controlled cities it’s just hard to know anymore.

I was just down by Independence Hall touring a few of the adjacent historic buildings in the area during the week and was surprised by the numbers of out of state tourists who were there. Philadelphia needs to get a handle on this thuggery and they need to do it quick or they are going to see millions lost in revenue and good will.
