We wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of murderers and rapists now, would we?

It might make them feel bad./SHEESH

And he will no longer be called Secretary of Corrections, he will be referred to “He Who Has His Head Up His Ass”

If the goal is trying to remove negative connotations when referring to those who are or have been imprisoned, I don’t think the term “incarcerated persons.” does the trick.

The new term, at least privately among the Democrats, is “our voters.”

I’m surprised they didn’t follow Disneyland, and call them “guests”.

When is a “con” not a “con?” When the are in a Washington State “Correction Center” as there are no more prisons, penitentiaries, or jails.

The likes of Robert Morgan should no longer be referred to as “government officials” but “radical moles” and their memos no longer referred to as “official directives” but “acts of institutional sabotage.”

Why does he think “incarcerated persons” is OK?

It’s no different than prisoner or jailbird.

If the DOJ uses the term 'students' (for criminals) that term will become tainted - and in twenty years people who use the term 'students' will be condemned. They'll be "politically incorrect" using an offensive term like 'student'...

Then DOJ types will have to come up with a new term. A new word to wash away the filth of the old word. That effort will fail also.

If criminals were called 'God's Gifts to Mankind' in twenty years that term would be offensive too. It's NOT the word that's the problem - it's the people who do crimes that are offensive - offensive to the rest of us. And that will never change.

People who rob others, hurt the innocent, steal or rape will NEVER have "a word" that won't become 'dirty' over time. The DOJ should stick with the words they have now...

What needs to change are the ways criminals ACT not what they're called.

The people making these decisions are morons, fools, idiots. They should be immediately fired and replaced with folks who have a brain, a keen sense of justice, and can work both together.
