“Should I Stay or Should I Go?” - The Clash
“If I go there will be trouble
And if I stay it will be double...”
Well, there’s your answer.
“The internationale”, “ Horst Wessel Song”, “Momma Told Me Not To Come” (lyrics sound like “I’m A Toad In A Tub” to me),”The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” are ripe candidates.
No, the worst is We Are The World.
"Imagine there is no bacon"
Youtube it....It will be worth the effort, believe me.

Imagine is a great melody. It’s also a liberal theme song. Telling everyone else to give up possessions and give til it hurts. Everyone else.
Considering,
frequency of broadcast;
level of musicianship;
philosophy of lyric:
Yes.

Imagine there’s no Beatles
Gets easier every day...

There is a difference between a bad song and a song that is fair or good or even great but is just way overplayed. “Stairway to Heaven” is a masterpiece but I might turn the dial if I’m not in the mood having heard it hundreds of times (but I doubt I would do so just prior to or during the guitar solo).
“Imagine” is a bad song that is way overrated AND way overplayed. I never liked it and I must confess I liked some pretty bad songs when I was younger. But two other songs that have always annoyed me are Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” and “Beds are Burning” by Midnight Oil.
Yes!
Also, pop music isn't meant to be taken that seriously.
If you really ponder a song long enough, you might well come to hate it.
You come to hate that hook that made it so catchy at first, and the lyrics start sounding cliched or too clever and manipulative -- which they always were.
It's surprising, though, that Huey Lewis or the Captain and Tennille, America or the Knack aren't somewhere on the list.
No, that would be “i’m too sexy for my shirt”
There was a Seattle talk show host (now dead, murdered by a homeless guy) who used to do a segment called “Radio Hell” twice a year. You call in with what you thought would be playing on the radio in Hell...obviously the WORST songs.
‘Imagine’ would be on that list, as well as...
Seasons in the Sun
Never Been to Me
Muskrat Love
The Night Chicago Died
Eres Tu
Billy, Don’t Be A Hero
Feelings
The Bertha Butt Boogie
You’re Havin’ My Baby
Rocky (Not the movie theme)
Livin’ Next Door to Alice
Save The Last Dance for Me (DiFranco Family version)
I’m Not Lisa
Please Mister, Please
Third-Rate Romance
Fly, Robin, Fly......
You get the idea.
