The FBI launched an investigation into the hacked photos in September 2014, in what became to be known as Celebgate. Lol, no. Flat-out BIG lie.
It was called "the Fappening."

My, my the FBI can actually investigate things. Who would have thought? Guess the perp didn't have any political power.
Now if the victims had been little people like us...
To: SMGFan
I’m sure he had no intent...

Investigators said that they have not uncovered any evidence linking Collins to the actual leaks of the photos or that he shared or uploaded the information he obtained.
Just damn.
I’d like to see nudes of Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande, Kate Upton, and others

The media gave much more play to just what content was hacked (even going so far as to print the photos with censored spots over the explicit bits).
So much for denying press to “hacked” information.

most of the victims might still be somewhat computer illiterate? I think it's an attempt to hide the online pictures by hiding the search topic name for them. Also media prissiness - they are the guardians of morality, doncha know...

Hi, I know that hack as ‘The Fappening’. It was all over social media that way. I never heard of that other name.
BTW, I’m married and a mom of six.

Authorities said that Collins engaged in a phishing scheme to obtain user names and passwords. He then sent emails that appeared to be from Apple or Google and asked users to provide user names or passwords. Investigators said that he would use a software program to download the entire contents of victims Apple iCloud backups and that he also ran a modeling scam in which he tricked some into sending him nude photos.
Wow.
I understand that one can view pictures of naked women for free on the internet. He must have been going to all this effort largely for the thrill of tricking people.
