They say reflects RF energy. I wonder if you put it on in a coat of thin stripes, spaced say 1/4 wavelength apart. Then put an additional coat, oriented perpendicular to that one. Then another, etc. After several coats you’d have a 3D mesh that might absorb then trap RF energy. ..

Where can you buy spray metal in cans? I'm interested for some metal plating projects on non-metallic surfaces. I need a metallic surface for the metal plating to work.

Never mind, I found a source - plateall, it’ll allow me to spray copper, sand it lightly and metal plate over it. I’ll make my own faraday cages.

I remember one episode of This Old House where they were painting a wall with metal/iron filings in the wall so they could have a painted wall magnets could stick to. Apparently that kind of thing is available.

Does that mean the Electromagnetic Pulse Weapon Scare will soon be over?

Not until after millions of dollars have been made on it.

Cool, I will look that up too. Sounds useful.

Especially if you can coat the inside of the device so that on the outside it still looks normal.

The article isn’t joking about the high level of RF pollution all around us. I had a bad case of it which I found with a software defined radio stick. The culprit turned out a cheap chinese laptop wall adapter with a plastic housing and no proper grounding.

It wasn’t widely known, but, when the prototype plastic-cased TI LED watches got zapped by ESD, we quickly converted to ion-plating the insides of the cases with copper.

I'm going to make a dome of silence (as in "Get Smart"). I'll be able to have secret conversations without government spies listening in, while blocking out electronic pollution.

I’m an RF engineer who designs wireless devices, and has to reduce their electromagnetic signature enough to pass Canadian, US, and Mexican tests. And I’d like to say: this article is highly misleading, and is intended to play on the fears of whose who want to hide from smart meters and WiFi.

Take a look at the Krylon line. I think they have sprayed aluminum, maybe copper, too.

Vacuum metalizing. It’s used in myriad applications. Look it up.
