Terrific. Thanks all

This is so frustrating. I’ve tried downloading half of these programs. All I end up with is spam and malaware.
Can anyone just give me an actual MP3 file of the song I can download? The iTunes version is NOT the good version.
Thanks.
The reason you get invalid file format is you are trying to convert a webpage: “https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=tightropetb&p=The+musketeers+exteneded+theme#id=1&vid=29eaa807aa21bde1d289625fd5c164f0&action=view" or trying to convert the HTML5 video player file - ain’t gonna work.
Why don’t you give the suggestions in post # 18 and # 38 a try.
Here, I’ll get the link for you since you ignored the suggestions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7l_QYOw3lE
Now open the above link. Then choose one of the downloader programs mentioned on this thread.
OR install the browser FireFox from Mozilla.com and install the addon “Youtube video and audio downloader”, then use FireFox to go to the above link and click the download link beneath the video. A menue appears allowing you to choose size, quality, filetype, and video only, audio only, or both.
Forgive me for asking, but how did you produce a movie and write several books? The skills recommended on this thread are not brain surgery.
1) Let me go in reverse order: I ask precisely because I had done many of these things before without success. Yes I ONCE mistakenly pasted the wrong link in. I am sure you have never done that.
2) I don’t farm and I can’t hammer two boards together. My singing voice is beyond bad. I can’t hit a golf ball to save my life. For that reason I do not hold it against anyone, including you, who can’t write a best selling book in 6 months. I know how to organize resources to bring to a screen things I see in my head AND get people to pay for it. Everyone has things that are easy and things that are hard. I’m happy with my skill set.
LOL
Glad to know you have skills.
Did you download the music you wanted? I recommend the FireFox route. I use it exclusively for downloading youtube videos and audio because it is so easy and foolproof.
Let me know if you need help with it. I’ll be online for a while, so we can ‘chat’, heheh.

On the road. Will look at it when I get home and get the malaware removed.
Roger that.
Since you seemed to be clued in here, I have a question.
I can “Rip” Youtube videos and convert them if needed. I use DVDVideoSoft (free version). I also have another file converter that works great.
My Question;
How can I capture embedded video? Videos on a web page.
By that I mean videos that are not linked or hosted on Youtube. Most of these seem to be done with Flash, but there could be other formats.
I’ve also seen where some “Images” can’t be copied or even grabbed with a screen capture.
Thanks in advance.
For you when you get home:
Check system requirements (winXP to Win10, OSX, Linux 32 & 64 bit)for Firefox here:
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/48.0/system-requirements/
Or just go here, download FireFox (free) from here:
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
Download YouTube Video and Audio Downloader 0.5.3.1 from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-video-and-audio-dow/
Click on green ‘add to FireFox’ button.
Then install FFmpeg to improve extraction capability from here:
https://outgoing.prod.mozaws.net/v1/c36d3d83b608b22e077a94d4b4562c3ba1c312387150bf2dd1edd61d47ac77c6/http%3A//www.ffmpeg.org/download.html
SUMMARY of program:
YouTube Video and Audio Downloader is an open-source project, downloading Youtube videos (using Firefox download manager or a custom external download manager) in all available formats (FLV, MP4, WebM, and 3GP) with video quality of your choice. It also contains a pure JavaScript library to extract the original audio file embedded in video files.
MP3 conversion is also possible if FFmpeg is installed. It is also shipped with an advanced feature offline tool to extract audio files out of FLV videos. ***You must install this to have MP3 selection on Youtube menu, but you don’t have to use advanced features to get MP3.***
Features:
1. Download YouTube videos in all available format (FLV, MP4, WebM, and 3GP)
2. Extract original audio file. Useful to listen to the downloaded audio files on MP3 players.
3. Download video subtitles in all available languages.
4. Get comprehensive information about currently opened YouTube video.
5. Video conversion tools (mp3 Converter, M4A audio muxer, WebM audio muxer, and AAC audio extractor).
6. Support for DASH video- and audio-only streams with auto muxing.
Supported Video Qualities: 2160p, 1440p, 1080p, 720p, 480p, and 360p
Supported Formats: WebM, FLV, MP4, 3GP, Verbos, and OPUS
Notes:
1. Please install and configure FFmpeg. The extraction capability of the extension improves a lot with FFmpeg installed.
2. To keep the original quality of the downloaded tracks, the extension only extracts the ORIGINAL audio files from video files.
If you need MP3 conversion, install: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/media-converter-and-muxer/ extension. YouTube Video and Audio Downloader is integrated with media converter extension hence you can access it from the toolbar button.
Remember, the size of the downloaded file depends on quality (HD or SD, etc.), length (minutes), and if video only, audio only, or both. Consider how much space you need to have available.
I’m not sure about embedded videos on a webpage. If the video has a youtube icon in the bottom right corner, then I click on that to open a new window on youtube with that video playing, then I use the downloader described in my above post #50.
That downloader has a way to connect to embedded videos, but I haven’t figured that out, yet. When I have time, I will check with their support site as they say: “If you are experiencing problems with the add-on, send a support request to”: https://github.com/inbasic/iaextractor
You might get an answer there. Sorry I can’t help right now with that, but I’ve never had any success when not on youtube.
