This whole thing has the feel of a PR stunt to gin up the buzz of the movie. Provoke faux outrage. Get lots of free press for the movie. Could be...box office isn't as strong as the previous X-Men flick.

It’s too bad, but when there is no question about whether the good guys are going to win, a story loses its punch. Tension is an important element in a book or movie, regardless of the genre.
Sorry it took me so long to respond. I always enjoy your perspective.
