The article appears to be this one, posted the day after Cruz announced his presidential run. The author (and editor-in-chief of the site), Shawn M. Griffiths, is a Texan who has moved to California.
He complains that Cruz's vote total in the primary runoff amounted to only 4% of some number. Using the Texas SOS's numbers, we see that it was actually 4.8% of the registered voters and 3.5% of the voting age population (which includes ilegales, of whom Texas has its share — 1.68m, according to the DHS in 2009).
In the general, Cruz pulled 4,456,599 votes. A nice landslide, even though it only amounted to 34.1% of the registered voters and 24.4% of the voting age population.
Depends on what he does at the convention, but I’m inclined to agree that he’s one and done as a US Senator. He clearly is a globalist plant with roots extending back to the Bushes.
Dewhurst could give Cruz a run, if he chose to....
Yeah, and there are unicorns in real life (sarcasm).
Dewhurst lost in 2012 to Ted Cruz, then in 2014 lost his Lt. Gov position to Dan Patrick. Plus he’s 70 years old. There’s been a changing of the guard in Texas politics and old timey establishment guys are not in demand for the top positions. Even young ones like George P. won’t be pushed forward with the top guys having no Bush ties to bind them.
It's plenty of time to recover if you're smart (and lucky).
I never much liked Ted, but if you loved him a year ago, I can't see just throwing him on the dungheap.
If everything you or I said or did or thought were recorded somewhere (and by now it more or less is, if you post or blog a lot) we could get caught in the changes of public opinion just like Ted Cruz.
Same here. I can’t stand to see his face, much less, hear him talk.
