She is complaining about women with children who worked their 8 hours and then went home .

Bet she is management and paid salary , management is suppose to stick around and put in more hours when needed and they collect larger paychecks to do that.

If they cut time , don’t show etc I can see being upset and even firing them but complaining that someone works their shift and goes home is down right petty.

Much ado about nothing (probably by design). The author wrote a lighthearted book about being single in the work world, watching (mostly) married women take three months leaves to have babies. They almost invariably returned to work happier and more efficient, leading the author to believe that she, too, could benefit from taking a three month leave from work. She's not now stumping for Bernie Sanders for President; she's promoting her harmless book. Everyone should calm down.
