Trump is “despised” by everyone because the media says he’s despised. Ask the millions of voters who have made him the runaway winner in the GOP primary. And he’ll stay the winner. Ask them how “despised” he is. LOL.
You mean the 37% in the Republican base who have voted for him? Now, show me the statistics outside of that base that view him favorably.

He’s immensely popular — (I’m not as sure his politics are reliably different from the D’s, especially since he says the fed govt should include education and health care, but that’s a different question. Trump’s popularity is profound.)

That's just a terrible argument. It is entirely possible to be very popular within a subgroup of the total voting public (i.e., GOP primary voters), but unpopular with the general electorate. That should be blindingly obvious.
Maybe Trump really isn't as unpopular as people say, but the fact that he pulls down about 40% of the votes in the GOP primary doesn't prove that.

Not one person mentioned Cruz and Hillary’s name elicits profanity and disgust. People are big-time angry at DC; all of the corrupt career politicians.
