Cruz’s feedback loop is election returns. He measures “right” and “wrong” by results. To him, the ends justify the means. So, no, he doesn’t know yet whether his remarks will help or hurt the mission as he sees it.

But isn't Cruz, the Principled Conservative, all about what's best for the Constitution? You are so right.

I was an ardent Cruz supporter. Not any more. He lost me after last night.

No. Although Cruz is educated, he lacks judgement and common sense (see my tag line since 2001).

>>>>>They're saying much more than there's too much chaos, Rubio said this morning he didn't know if he could support Trump now because he is the author of chaos and anarchy. I believe Kasich said something similar. This is their perfect alibi for not supporting Trump after their oaths.<<<<<<<

Now you know what it's like to see the Matrix from the outside.

Could you please explain? I am very attuned to anything matrix :).

You're right, that is one of his big problems. His historical knowledge and legal bent have robbed him of all intuition and human sensitivity. I think that's why he sometimes looks so prescripted, there's nothing behind his words but his delivery. Whereas Trump's passion is evident and sometimes a little out of line, but it is passion.

They've got their heads up their donors' butts as per norm. It never stops being about money and power and they are protecting their very long-term investments and their olympic sized trough.

Look at the posts here on good ol FR supporting Cruz. They have gone off the edge.
I liked him once and would have voted for him but too much has come out about him...and then there are the people in his campaign. I voted TRUMP and damn glad I did.

I got turned off of Cruz (to whom I donated!) a while ago by his own behavior, but this takes the cake.

As soon as he has the corrupt Bush family on board, I knew he was bought. It’s sad. A year ago we all here believed in him.

To add another layer - Neil Bush was on CNN praising Ted Cruz last night before all the Chi stuff unfolded. Talk about Bizarro World.

>>>>>>“I could have easily seen myself supporting him if Trump for whatever reason did not get the nomination. Now, I am more opposed to him than ever.”<<<<<<<

Exactly my sentiments. Based on the backlash to his comments, I’m guessing he’s trying to figure out how to extricate himself from the $hitstorm he created. Just hope no one buys his apology. Lie to me once, shame on you, lie to me repeatedly, shame on me.

You know, I once supported Cruz and Trump, although Trump a bit more. But, like so many, I did some research and realized Cruz is not at all what he would like us to believe. I think it speaks volumes that Sessions, who has worked with Cruz, supports Trump.

Dittos to that! The Canadian lyin’ Teddy ‘bears’ Cruz ia a bought and payed for puppet/stooge of the NWO/CFR/Goldman Sachs Globalist cabal. I can’t believe he has any support left after all that is now well known about him, especially after his commie like performance from last night. What a damn fake/fraud/phony he and his screwball wife are. Beck and Bush in his inner circle? What freakin’ joke! It must drive the Cruzers to tears and ripping hair out every time they see that Beck/Bush thing and know darn well they can’t defend THAT!

I agree with you completely even though I tend to be more sympathetic to Cruz than Trump. Cruz ought to have delivered a broadside against the disruption and threats against Trump and then called on Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and the DNC to disavow and denounce such tactics. Then Cruz ought to have rallied a squad of conservative lawyers and law firms to sue the organizations and persons responsible on behalf of Trump, the other Republican candidates, and GOP voters.

Cruz could have made a one paragraph statement putting the blame on the protestors and those who organized them and emerged as a statesman.

But he couldn’t couldn’t resist opening his lawyerly mouth and inserting both feet. It’s what he does, because he cannot pass up an opportunity to remind us that he is better, smarter, and ordained.

Did you see the presser where he made those statements? He had given his usual stump speech to the reporters and when the press started to drift away, he said something along the lines, I'd like to say something about the violence tonight. He wasn't even backed into a wall to give a response.

He reminds everybody of his superiority not just with words, but his posture, the way he wags his finger at anyone listening to him, his disdainful smirk which is never too far away from the surface.

Same here. Cruz blew it last night.

Blaming Trump for what happened was very self serving and short sighted of Cruz.

He, himself could have been the target of those protests, and he would certainly be if he were to take the lead. Going for some cheap political points rather than standing with Trump in that instance has pretty much made him toast.

And I was leaning toward Cruz.

What's funny is I can see Trump drumming down on the protestors and supporting Cruz if the tables were turned. Only Ted is supposed to be the conservative purist and principled candidate. Character comes in all different kinds of human packages. Cruz isn't carrying.

There was a time when I supported a Trump/Cruz ticket with the idea that Cruz could add another 8 years to Donald’s 4 or 8. Not any more! I just hope Donald picks a stellar person as his VP, one we can move up to the Presidency. Hopefully, another outsider!.
