Condolences on your loss, and best wishes for your mother’s quick and complete recovery.

I can certainly empathize with you and these circumstances. A bit less than 4 years ago my father died suddenly. Mom had a controlled cardiac arrhythmia... until then. She was in the hospital many times that summer and early fall. The doc put her on anti-coagulents to avoid a stroke. Come late September, she had some rectal bleeding. Into the hospital again to check her out...no result. About 3 weeks later she had severe bleeding, and it was determined that she had colon cancer (Stage 3B). Thankfully, after removing part of the colon and going through chemo, she survived and hasn’t had a relapse. The arrhythmia likely saved her life, because without the anti-coagulents she wouldn’t have bled so soon and the cancer would have spread more before it was detected.

Looking back on this is easy (except for Dad dying, of course), but it was incredibly stressful to live through it. Sincerest wishes for your family to make it through these events.

To all, I wish I could ping you all. But it is past midnight. Thank you all for your prayers. I knew it would work. FReeper friends really come through for you. Gd bless you all.

My mom woke up and was ok, weak, but fine, we did not feed her, just a bit of tea and broth. She got through the whole funeral. It was hard to remind her not to eat at the restaurant meal afterward, but we made it through that too. She won’t starve to death not eating for a day.

And believe it or not, her very bad evening of stomach virus: she didn’t even remember it the next day. We all wish we didn’t remember such nights.

Thank you all so much for your condolences. I read how many of you have lost loved ones. I’m sorry for all. I will forever miss my daddy but I know it was time for him to go, and he is whole and free again. I said some words at the funeral and I hope I did him proud.

Love to you all.
