I have yet to find a way to permanently turn off Win 10 updates and upgrades. Care to share?
I'm aware that you can delay updates for three months and upgrades for six months. I want to turn off both updates and upgrades permanently.
Well, it just so happens that this is not only possible, it's heavily documented online. That write up is STRAIGHT FROM MICROSOFT. All I had to do what type "stop Windows 10 upgrade notification" in Bing or Google, and that was in the top 5 search results.
The only tweak I would offer is that instead of renaming the GWX worker process, delete the whole GWX folder under C:\Windows\System32. Just make sure the first thing you do is uninstall KB 3035583 and mark it as hidden.
If you mean permanently turning off updates and upgrades as in Windows Update, I'm just going to SMH and facepalm, because that practice is not only silly, it's dangerous.
Sorry you weren’t able to answer my question. I guess there are some things in Win 10 that, contrary to what you originally posted, cannot be turned off.
I answered your question more than adequately. If you ARE asking how to turn off the updating in Windows 10, you’re denser than the brisket I made on Sunday. Turning off security updates on ANY operating environment puts you at risk. Go buy a Mac.
