I’ve always thought it would be easier for Trump to win the general than Cruz.

But after seeing a Trump in action after he turned on Cruz, I don’t think so.

He makes too many enemies. Causes, purposely, too many people to not like him. And he makes people think he is unstable.

I am no longer sure he can even garner the nomination.

Not saying he doesn’t go in to the Convention with the most delegates, but enough first a first ballot nomination? I’m not so sure anymore.

Actually I was a Cruz supporter, until I looked closely at the race, saw the media try to take Trump down after each debate, declaring how wonderful other candidates were Fiorini, Carson, Cruz, and now this weekend its Rubio. (they gave up on Bush early}. My vote will go to the candidate the media/party hit the hardest, because that is who they fear the most. I’m voting for Trump. The others are establishment types or not ready for prime timers who have not yet faced the media assault coming their way, when facing Hillary.

You don’t think Trump hitting Cruz hard on citizenship, ethanol and calling him a liar dropped his numbers? I do agree with you Cruz shot himself in the foot at the beginning of the debate, which hurt.

Rubio has been weak. Now we are supposed to believe he’s neck and neck with Trump.

Bull. Too convenient when the Establishment media reports what the GOPE needs them to report.

Think. Cruz has no chance, establishment wants Rubio, establishment hates Trump. Maybe, just maybe they see Trump as anti-establishment, with a real chance to win it all. Don’t let FOX pick your candidate for you.

1-Rubio.... 2-Cruz.... and 3-Trump? That would record an 8.2 on the FR earthquake meter.

The details of this poll are out..298 registered/likely voters with a MOE of 5.6. It’s really ridiculous that Emerson is trying to run with this poll on the day of the caucuses given the sample size. I could see 400 or more having some validity, but this is a shameless effort by Emerson to either attain relevance or influence the caucus goers.

I love when people (not you) say Trump makes “too many enemies”.

Trump is pulling in Democrats, evangelicals, moderates, conservatives, etc. He is polling better amongst Latinos and blacks than any other GOP candidate, including the Latino ones lol. He has the endorsement of Palin and Falwell and the respect of pols like Sessions and Guiliani. He is winning over an impressive cross section of people.

He does make enemies though - of the status quo types with skin in the current system, and holier than thou Cruz types. So there’s that I suppose.

Quigley = Conservative thru and thru, but living in the real world.

You ‘re on the right track. Half way there. Look at the race from the eyes of the enemy. It is a well known fact the establishment would be happy with either a Dem or Rep. During the season of primaries, establishment institutions which in include the big media(FOX) etc. direct us toward their preferred candidates, playing off our emotions with he said she said irrelevancies, dividing us on insignificant issues, all with the intent of nominating safe establishment candidates. Trump(their thorn) has been attacked like no candidate in my lifetime(establishment is terrified of him), and he still leads the polls. Don’t be fooled, he is leading with conservative support. None of these candidates are purist, including Cruz, whom I previously supported. Cruz simply has no chance to win the general. I suggest we look now at elections as opportunities to slow the tide of collectivism. Changing demographics with the inflow of so many refugees will lead to generations of collectivist voters. Think of every policy these deranged Dems have proposed no matter how un-American and ridiculous now, will come to pass, unless we control immigration. Trump is the strongest voice on this issue, we can only hope he means it, because if our open borders are not controlled, conservatives will no longer need to participate in elections.

“You don’t think Trump hitting Cruz hard on citizenship, ethanol and calling him a liar dropped his numbers?”

Those issues too. You know, it’s interesting just how self-absorbed everyone here is today. The use of Ethanol as a motor fuel is a disgrace, and Cruz is as right as rain that it should be eliminated. But the farmers of Iowa, are now used to this particular “government tit,” so shame on Ted for telling the truth because as they say, “he’s messing with our rice bowl!” I am just wondering what the evangelicals will do when they are faced with Trump as the GOP candidate? Will they “take their marble and go home” because Trump “isn’t one of them?”

It definitely will be interesting. I agree with you on the use of ethanol in motor fuel. You are right to see what will happen with the evangelicals - they have a habit of staying home if they do not like the candidate as Romney found out the hard way.

Have a great day and enjoy the events that go on tonight no matter who wins.
