As the Republic decays people are looking for a strong man to set things right. Will we get a Ceaser or a Pinoche? A Lenin or a Stalin or a Paul Pot? We will see.
Thankfully all the partisan rancour will calm down once one primaries are over.
Then there’s the sh_tstorm over the VP selection.
Was it Donald Trump’s function ln wrestling, in beauty contests or in firing people to enhance the quality of our culture? He was a part of the media to which you seek to displace blame for the coarsening of culture.
We’re already to the “nasty supporters of (X) have driven me into the arms of opponent (Y)” stage, so it’s starting to collapse under the weight of it’s own illogic.

Trump as he has told us is 15 to 20 points ahead of Cruz, what's the scare? Why the hate? Trump and Freepers say Cruz will lose, so what's the point of the hate?

It'll come sooner than that. Get ready for an April Clinton email data dump on Trump. The pin dropping will be FR outrage by a whole lot of us here over Trump's being unjustly smeared. With all the cheap shots taken on Cruz over the past month, I for one will not be lifting a finger in Trump's defense (something I have done numerous times to-date, as he has been my 2nd choice candidate). Let them bear the slings and arrows.
I remember worse with Guiliani, there was a group of supporters going around trying to get opponents banned, vitriolic threads running into the thousands of replies flying so fast it was hard to keep up even with hitting refresh every couple of seconds. He was the only one who could save us from Hillary, you know.
How many of the frequent posters here nowadays are just here to cause division? The threads here sound like DU is taking over Free Republic, and like you, I’m just about done. If I come here in the mornings it puts a downer on the rest of my day. Very little educated discussion, just hatred and distortion. Who needs to be called a “cultist” by some nameless idiot on the internet?! Our beloved country is going down the tubes. We need to STOP it from happening as best we know how. For me that’s voting for Senator Cruz, but I’m not going to insult others who feel like they need to vote for someone else. I hope they change their mind and their vote, and that’s enough.

Years and years now on FR, nothing but WE need someone who will take a stand for us.....well one did. ONLY one had the nerve to speak out for us and what does he get? Rejection.
When Joe Wilson called Obama a Liar, FR went crazy with praise....finally someone said what we felt. He was then given lots of $$$$ for what he did. Hooray for Joe Wilson, and I mean it..., but now we reject another soul like him? Unbelievable.
I have been noticing the increase in essentially brainless attacks on good thinking people for some years now. This usually results in driving them away. Who would want to weaken or destroy Free Republic? I kinda think it is our nation’s enemies.
