My daughter’s best friend was pregnant with a baby with severe birth defects that she was told she would not carry the baby to term. And if the baby was born then it would not live for long. She was advised that she could terminate the pregnancy if she wished. Her answer to that was that she was the baby’s mother and as such is responsible for giving the baby life. She would continue to give her baby life even if that life was spent entirely within her womb.
This woman is a saint and will see her child again. God bless that family.
Rick Santorum’s daughter Bella has this and has outlived all predictions
I lost a brother a week before birth. To this day I can’t comprehend how tough it would of been for mom to give birth to a dead son. I have two little sisters, but alas, that little one was my only brother.
Happened a long time ago and I can still barely talk about it without tearing up. However, I know he’s with Jesus, and that warms the heart.
15 years ago, I too learned my son had T18 at 25 weeks. The doctor did recommend that I “deliver” the baby right away.
I asked if the pregnancy posed any risks to me and was told no. So I said then there is no reason to “deliver” him. I am a devout catholic and would not even consider terminating a pregnancy. I carried him to 32 weeks, he was born via C-section and was baptized immediately. He died a few hours post birth on 07-21-2000. Saddest day of our lives. What gave me comfort was when I saw the results of the Amnio showing the chromosome abnormality. There were 3 number 18 chromosomes. It was 3, as in the Trinity. I realized he belonged to God.
