Being a brain surgeon, one would think that he would realize that the brain needed to peruse some information before stating it as fact - perhaps he would like to point out the part of the Constitution that he bases his statement on.

Just about time to respond to Carson statements with, "Who???"

Carson Says Trump's Ban on Muslims is "Unconstitutional, Not Who We Are"

Uh, no it isn't unconstitutional. Non-citizens residing outside of the United States do NOT have rights under the Constitution. If they did, there'd have been a few tens of millions in WW2 that would have been able to sue the US government for property damage, loss of income, injuries and wrongful death. As to the "religious test" clause in the Constitution, it ONLY deals with those seeking federal office of some kind - and that is NOT what we are talking about here. Many have said in the past that the Constitution is not a suicide pact - necessarily implying that SOMETIMES we have to set aside certain of its provisions for the preservation of the people of this country, or the country itself. We also have a law on the books that permits the President to exclude from immigration ANY person or ANY group that the President believes will not benefit this country by their entry into it - and that law has NEVER been successfully challenged in the courts.

As for "its not who we are" - well, is "who we are" a country that is ready to soak up dozens or hundreds of attacks like San Bernadino per year? Because if we don't get a handle on actually vetting people coming into this country, that IS what is going to happen. Frankly, anyone who believes that we have to do this so as not to "insult" or otherwise not "hurt the feelings" of murderous psychopaths is not fit to be a dog catcher, let alone the President of the United States. The FIRST duty of ANY government is to protect its citizens - and letting an indeterminate number of murderous psychopaths into this country is a complete abdication of that responsibility...not to mention being just plain NUTS.

Oh, FYI, if you want to avoid any potential Constitutional issues, then the President has the authority to halt ALL immigration, for the duration of his term or any other shorter period. Are you ready, Dr. Carson, to take that step? I ask because I am sure that one other candidate would be...and that candidate ain't you.

After a proposal by Donald Trump to ban all Muslims from entering the United States, Dr. Ben Carson told CNN's Jake Tapper such a move would be prejudiced and would alienate Muslims.

Prejudiced. Dr. Carson, do you mean something like Moslems offering people a choice between conversion to Islam, effective slavery or death? Because if you ask me, THAT is prejudiced and Trump's proposal to TEMPORARILY halt Moslem immigration until we can figure out who is or is not a threat to us is, quite simply, just an act of self-preservation and NOT prejudice.

As to the "alienate Muslims" part - you know, at this point I really don't give a rat's ass. THEY have alienated ME and most other Americans at this point by one of two choices that they've made: 1) to engage in jihad/war against the U.S. (and all of Western culture); or 2) tacit support of jihad/war by their collective failure to condemn and withdraw support from the MOSLEM EXTREMISTS among them.

I have little doubt that there are MANY very kind, decent and moral (by Western/Judeo-Christian standards) Moslems, people who do NOT engage in or support jihad/war against all non-Moslems. I feel sorry for them, they are the good apples that are stuck in the barrel with a few rotten ones - but since we have no reasonably certain method of determining which of them is which, we would be wiser to be safe rather than sorry. I'm not going to be taking any M&Ms from the bowl of 1,000 when 2 are poisonous and will kill me - the goodness of the other 998 is just not worth it (and I'm not sure that the ratio between "bad" and "good" Moslems is that favorable, which makes the point to an even greater extent).

Dr. Carson is a great guy, and a very smart and talented one, as well. However, his training and experience do not, IMHO, lend themselves well to being the POTUS. This last set of statements proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt for me.

FDR did worse. Between 110,000 and 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry who lived on the Pacific coast were sent to internment camps during World War II.

(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any
class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the
interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such
period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or
any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the
entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever
the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to
comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements
of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by
passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of
personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry
of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline.

It’s going to be fun to watch all of these candidates drop down a few notches. They are all slamming Trump hoping to go up in the polls when it’s the PEOPLE who are with Trump.

By that logic we have to accept everyone.

And that's exactly what they want! Or what the big-money donors want, which is the same thing.
