The CPU is fine IMO and unless your sys isn’t seeing the memory or it’s some ungodly slow memory, then that mobo has to be the issue, Especially if as you said there was info that came out later about a problem of any kind.
Fortunately thats the cheapest upgrade. Even an older z87 (which I have) will pass that much data with no problem.
An Amy1200 was my first. AWESOME for it’s day. PC and Mac STILL haven’t caught up in some ways. Workbench was a joy of an OS to use.
I’ll start looking into them. I may want the next generation Intel socket, though, which will ramp up the cost pretty quickly! But, as you say, I could throw in a relatively cheap mobo that works with my current processor and see if I’m back on track. I could then think about a bigger upgrade later. Thanks.
I’m pretty sure the z87/97 series can be had for under 150 these days for a good one. Outlet PC has great prices on older hardware www.outletpc.com
I have had good experiences ordering with them. No returns so far with everything from ram to refurbed laptops.
I’ll give them a look! Thanks again.
Oh BTW, do you think my Commando Polymer armor makes my ass look fat? I was going to go kill a bunch of Forged later but don’t want to commit a Fallout Faux-pa. I was thinking about leaving the vault suit off and just reveling in ‘going commando’ in all ways. Let the commonwealth know about the Brotherhood of STEEL first hand (It worked in Skyrim)
And on a ‘less’ serious note, can SOMEONE explain to me why it is that I can make a Recon scope for a shotgun but NOT make the very same scope for a lazer rifle without another tick on the SCIENCE! perk? (I should have listened to my HS guidance councilor I suppose... But no I had to max the Laz perk. Damn lot of good that did)
Come to think of it, what do you think? “The Adventures of Knight Paladin Lionheart, Hero of the Commonwealth” has much to parody.
Gotta love Beth logic sometimes.
Missed this. The new xbox and PS4 versions of Fallout will be able to be able to be modded within a year. But only to a point.
“Contrast this to the Bioware games, “
At this point I’m a Bethesda fanboi/evangelist. I can’t deal with the other companies games anymore because of control issues. I HATE the feel of how they control/move. Either I just got so used to Sky/Fallout or I just click with it, but I honestly don’t bother keeping up with other games now.
I played LA Noir on PS3 and loved the ‘game’. But controlling that mess made me not even look at Red Dead Redemption or the GTA games. I heard the PC has the same feel controlwise so no go.
I got Bioshock Infinite and Farcry Blood Dragon free with my old card and pulled them from the drive shortly after. Beautiful to look at, nigtmate fuel to control.
The only game I will buy for sure between now and the next elder scrolls title is Persona 5 because I love that series and will put up with a lot to play it. But it controlled pretty well so no real issue anyway.
I was a Final Fantasy buff until 13. Someone should be drawn and quartered for that.
Bsides Sky/Fallout though, The PS1 Xenogears and PS2 Xenosaga games are just pure awesome start to finish. Saga was too far over the heads of the market and failed as a profitable series but for old guys with some education in history/mythology AND and imagination, it was the ideal game. We shall never see it’s like again I’m afraid.
I can think of one president who would.
The secret to Commodore was different chips to do each job in the computer, which allowed for much more innovation. IBM heralded the one chip solution, they won the battle, Commodore disappeared from America, then IBM changed to the multi chip framework for graphics, sound, etc.
But Amiga still is used in Europe.
170 posts and no one else does Destiny?
GOOD POINT
lol
It is kinda surprising.
i was hip deep in modding sky when it came out so I didn’t really even think about it but I hear it was a good game.
I see that it’s available for PC.
Therefor it may not be completely ghey.
Maybe I gives it to myself for Christmas.
Odd.. some of the images I pull up for it indicate a FPS
format, others not so much. I am an FPS purist.
The Paula chip/ music still gets used in a lot of techno music. It is ancient compared to a lot of modern hardware but it has a certain sound and the Amiga has a workflow that still makes it a viable option. The Atari 1040 ST is still used to sequence hardware too. More accurate timing than modern apple/PC stuff because there’s no 40 gig OS to interfere.
Most of it is FPS but it’s really a hybrid.
Think I got a corrupt save. Corvega still hosed after a reboot.
You may haZ found an Easter egg but I just had my first real problem. Took me to lev 51 to experience one. I dub F4 most stable game ever.
That sounds interesting.. kind of an expansion of how Halo
had some non FPS sequences at the beginning of certain levels.
Those were mainly for explanation and orientation but I can
see how adding some control would be interesting.
Mostly I just used ‘em to get up and grab a fresh beer.
Wolfenstein . . . the original . . . was my first shoot-m’-up that I thoroughly enjoyed. Finished the F.E.A.R. series last year.
I have tried to play Oblivion a few times (PC and PS3) but there seems to be a glitch - once you find yourself in vampire mode you can’t get out of it in PS3. I want to finish that one before going to Skyrim.
Just got FO4 for PS4 but kind of waiting to trade out my hard drive to a 2TB. PS4 is a ridiculous hog as each game weighs out to pretty much like 50 gb. On a 500 gb that comes out to about 8-9 games.
Looking to replay my old Leisure Suit Larry ‘Ship Up or Shape Out.’
Also downloaded a ton of old games from GOG.com.
You get to shoot Bloggers.
