1968 AMC AMX.
V-8 390 4-speed (Go-Package)
RWD, manual 4-speed gearbox
389.6 cui, 325 hp / 425 lb-ft
Acceleration: 0- 60 mph 6.2 s; 1/4 mile drag time 13.6 s
Top Speed: I took my foot off the gas pedal at 140.
The *ONLY* American Made Car to beat the Chevrolet Corvette *out of the factory.* In 1969, Chevrolet upped the HP on the Corvette to beat the AMX.
With so much torque all available at the low end, it'd push you back in your seat hard. Still miss mine, it was *my* Super Car.

Well, once the garage is full it's time to start on the yard. R-44, good starter chopper.

I once owned a Countach for about an hour. It was passing through as part of a six way car deal. I wound up with some cash for my part of selling two Vettes. Poor planning on my part.

Looks a heck lot like a Australian Chevlle.
The grill and head lights look like a Chevlle.

The strange thing is some new cars today looks like the AMC turd, I meant the Pacer except the head lights.
Would be a neat car to do modifications on.

1961 Pontiac Catalina may not have been a Super Car, but I love it and I will never see another for $400 that runs.
(I was soooo stupid to sell that car)

**** “I remember the Pantera. The roof was as high as an average mans belt buckle” ****
Had a friend that discovered that average ditch water was deeper than the roof ... and it was difficult to get out of once he was in it. (the ditch)
He owned the car for a total of 2 weeks but for years we talked about that car. His next vehicle was a 58 Chevy PU ...

And a best-buy weight-wise and size-wise for the money. I bought one from a work friend years ago for peanuts. I was doing maintenance on it soon afterward when I found a full-sized air ratchet down in the front hood area by the wheel-well. The car had been professionally cared for its entire life. That car was so big, some mechanic lost his entire pneumatic ratchet in it and probably couldn't find it!

In 1972 in a straight line that puppy would move, in retrospect the bias ply tires were probably safer ... if it would have had radials I would have rolled it, I learned how to slide through the corners.
Today... I just love it for the lines, I just think it is beautiful (today my slightly modded 3/4 Dodge Diesel PU could easily out run it, out corner it and get way better mileage) but I can never replace the memories made in that wide back seat.
Sucks to get old

Even though the new 2015 Corvette ZO6 doesn't fall into the "Most Forgotten" territory, For around $100k this thing has the power, the technology and value for so much less than those exotics. This is mine. 650hp 0-60 2.9s, 1/4 in 10.9/127mph
