Joanna vs. Valerie has started!
I tell ya, Joanna has got to be the meanest female striker I have ever seen.
I think I have only seen one fight of hers and a highlight reel, but she is a jaw dropping fighter.
I think she’ll win here.
Half way through round one:
It’s a feeling out process through the first minute. Valerie gets Joanna down. Joanna works her way back up after about minute without getting any real damage.
End of round one:
Joanna has been pushed up against the cage in a clinch game. Appears Joanna has some swelling over one of her eyes. Joanna landed a nice head kick and stunned Valerie. Joanna now has Valerie up against the cage. They had some nice exchanges at the end of the round.
Yeah, she’s pretty legit.
Half way through round two:
Slower paced to the start of the second. Not a ton of action. Some striking exchanges and clinch work.
End of round two:
Not a fast paced round at all. Valerie has been holding her own against Joanna. Close round to me. I’d probably hate to be scoring this fight.
Half way through round three:
Valarie has a nice shiner over her right eye. Valerie gets into a clinch game with Joanna and has the tables turned.

Usually the Rousey fights are over in a minute or so, so I really appreciate your coverage vs. paying full fare.
End of round three:
Not a super fast paced round. Although a fairly close round I think Joanna is getting a little more out of her strikes.
No problem! If I see folks posting that say they are following and not watching I’ll try to do some PBP.
Round four:
Joanna is landing some shots but Valerie is getting some in too. Valerie’s face appears to be more of a mess. Some nice striking exchanges. I think Joanna is pulling away some but she has her hands full.

This is not what I expected in this fight.
Half way through round five:
Valarie comes out swinging but seems gassed. It’s mostly a stand up slugfest.
End of round five and the fight:
Valerie refused to quit and kept engaging Joanna. Her faced looks pretty beat up. Joanna’s face doesn’t look too bad IMHO. I think Joanna got into some cruise control and maybe started playing for points.
Both fighters touch gloves at the end.
I think Joanna retains the title but not in her typical fashion.

I have the audio on mute but Joanna had her hand raised and it says by unanimous decision!
